Dair House School

Independent school for boys and girls aged 3 - 11

Our School

Since 1932, Dair House School has developed a reputation for providing a wonderfully caring and supportive education in the area surrounding Farnham Royal including Farnham Common, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross, Stoke Poges, Burnham, Iver, Langley and Slough,  to boys and girls from rising three to 11 years old.

We have always placed the utmost importance on the happiness of our children and firmly believe that a child’s individual progress is greatly improved if they are happy and want to come to school to tackle new challenges.

All of our visitors comment on the special, warm, friendly atmosphere that is exists throughout the school between children, staff and parents.

Dair House School has a fantastic staff who both challenge the children to make great strides forward, and provide an exceptionally individual caring support framework. We make great efforts to provide the best academic, sporting, musical, dramatic, artistic and mindful experiences. We offer over 45 extra-curricular club sessions each week, before school, at lunchtime and after school. We also provide a Breakfast Club and After School Care service from 7.30am to 6.00pm.

We have been presenting the Kindness Cup every Wednesday morning for over three decades. Kindness is very much a central value of the school along with Truthfulness, Resilience, Happiness and Tolerance.

We are a small school with a limit of 150 children. This enables us to work closely with parents to support each of our children’s learning. We seek to provide the closest of links with parents and have always enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the Dair House School PTA.

Former pupils comment that the self-confidence, good manners, consideration for others and personal desire to keep learning and never give up, have enabled them to tackle their later educational experiences extremely successfully.

We are a mixed ability school that seeks to prepare our children for the senior school most suited to their abilities and needs. With this in mind, our children leave us at the end of Year 6 for a wide range of independent, grammar and upper schools. Indeed, in the last three years our children have won scholarships for their academic, musical, sporting and artistic abilities.

Please do arrange an appointment to visit us, meet our children and talk with our staff.

Charities

Each year we aim to support a local charity, a national charity and an international charity.
Recently we have raised funds for various charities by holding bake sales, running, performing in plays and concerts, dressing-up days and coffee mornings for a wide range of charities, some of which are listed below:

Macmillan Cancer Care
Thames Valley Adventure Playground
Wexham Park  Hospital Childrens' A & E Department
Slough Food Bank
Comic Relief
Sport Aid
Children in Need
CLIC Sargent
Diabetes UK

Helping the Community

Various community groups have used, and do use, the school and grounds for events.  These include the local church, fitness instructors and local firms.

We visit residential houses for the elderly at Christmas, to sing carols with our choir.  We also support local fetes and fairs with your Year 5 and 6 children running stalls and raising money for charity.
