At Dair House Nursery, we believe in creating the perfect start to your child's educational journey. Our warm, friendly, and caring environment is designed with your child at the centre of everything we do. We offer flexible sessions—morning, afternoon, or full day—to ensure a smooth and gradual introduction to school life.

Children can join our lively and stimulating environment as soon as they turn three years old. Here, they will find superb facilities and an excellent teaching team dedicated to fostering a warm, family-like atmosphere. We teach our children to behave with kindness and respect towards each other, cultivating a sense of community and mutual respect.

Our vibrant and varied curriculum aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines, covering:

  • Personal, Social, and Emotional Development

  • Communication and Language

  • Physical Development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the World

  • Expressive Arts and Design

In addition to these core areas, our children also benefit from specialist teaching in Music, PE, and French, providing a rich and diverse learning experience. Nursery children also get to experience our unique ‘Dair to Go Wild’ weekly forest school sessions.

Our Nursery staff are committed to providing a balanced introduction to school life, covering all seven areas of learning in a relaxed and happy environment. Through a mix of adult-initiated tasks and creative play, we teach reading, number work, writing, and more, ensuring holistic development for your child.

At Dair House Nursery, children are an integral part of our school community. They participate in assemblies and school performances, allowing them to feel truly included in the life of Dair House. Our highly personal service ensures that each child receives the attention and care they deserve.

Our nursery features a purpose-built classroom with integrated toilets and an interactive whiteboard, providing a comfortable and engaging learning space. Outside, we have a fantastic, private, and secure playing field with an outdoor classroom and play equipment, perfect for active and imaginative play. Additionally, our nursery children have access to the school hall and dining room, further enriching their school experience.

To track and support your child's progress, our Nursery staff maintain detailed Learning Journeys and utilise the online application, Tapestry. This allows you to receive instant updates and see how your child is learning and developing. We also arrange formal Parents’ Evenings in the Autumn and Summer terms, but our practitioners are always available for discussions every day.

Smooth Transition from Nursery to Reception

To ensure a smooth transition from Nursery to Reception, we facilitate regular joint sessions where Nursery and Reception children come together to share activities and use the EYFS facilities. These interactions help Nursery children become familiar with the Reception environment and routines, easing their transition and fostering a sense of continuity and comfort as they progress in their educational journey.

Please do book a visit to find out more. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Dair House Nursery, where every child’s educational journey begins with care, creativity, and community.
