Rewards and Awards at Dair House School

At Dair House School, we believe in the power of positive praise and the importance of recognising children who embody our school values. Our rewards and awards system is designed to celebrate the achievements, efforts, and exemplary behaviour of our pupils, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.

House Points System

From Reception onwards, children earn House Points for good work, good behaviour, kindness, and effort. This system promotes a healthy sense of competition and teamwork, encouraging students to strive for excellence in all they do. As pupils accumulate House Points, they can achieve bronze, silver, gold, and platinum stars throughout the year, marking their progress and dedication.

Value-Based Stickers and Certificates

We place great emphasis on our core values of being courageous, committed, and caring. To reinforce these values, pupils are awarded Courageous, Committed, and Caring stickers when they demonstrate these qualities. For those who go above and beyond, we present the Headteacher's Special Recognition Certificates, highlighting their exceptional adherence to our school ethos.

The Kindness Cup

Kindness and good manners are integral to our community. Each week, during our awards assembly, we present The Kindness Cup to a pupil who has shown outstanding kindness. This esteemed cup has been awarded weekly for over 40 years, making it a cherished tradition that underscores the importance we place on kindness.

Work of the Week

Children who produce particularly noteworthy work are recognised with the Work of the Week award during our weekly awards assembly. This celebration of success extends to achievements both inside and outside of school, providing a platform for all forms of accomplishment.

The Southerden Tree of Recognition

All our children's successes are celebrated by being given a leaf on the Southerden Tree of Recognition. This tree symbolises growth and achievement, with each leaf representing a child's contributions and progress throughout the year.

Celebration Day

At the end of the academic year, we hold a special Celebration Day to acknowledge the successes and achievements of our students. This event is a highlight of the school calendar, bringing the entire Dair House community together to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our pupils over the past year.
